Dear Year 6 Parents,
Following on from my previous letter about concerns over the Windmill Hill site following an Ofsted Inspection in October, I wanted to confirm that Governors are satisfied that the necessary actions have been taken by the site management team.
All concerns in the Ofsted report had to be quickly addressed. The centre maintained its Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge and therefore no further action was required.
The Ofsted Inspection related to childcare facilities in holiday time and not school-led activities. We will have school staff accompanying the children at all times.
Mrs Barrie and myself will visit the centre beforehand in order to write our own risk assessment, to accompany the risk assessment PGL has in place. These together cover supervision especially in the evenings, required ratios, activity safety and site security etc, as well as the needs of individual children.
Miss Smith has prepared the attached video and you can access the PGL website for more information about the site, activities and accommodation.
Do please let us know if you have any more questions and we will do our best to answer them quickly. Further paperwork, such as medical forms and kit list will follow shortly.
We know that the children are very much looking forward to their visit, so do please make any outstanding payments.
Rest assured that your child will be well cared for and have a wonderful memory of their last few months at St Nicholas.
