'Together we learn, together we grow; with faith, love and God beside us.'
If you are a new visitor to this website, thank you for your interest in St Nicholas.
We are a large and popular village primary school and the needs of the children are at the heart of everything that we do. St Nicholas school was founded in 1833 by William Russell, Rector of Shepperton. As a Church of England School, we belong to a large family of church schools within the London Diocese and benefit hugely from this partnership and the expertise available to us.
We provide a rich and varied curriculum which is further enhanced by tremendous space inside and outside. This includes large playgrounds and fields, our Friendship Garden, adventure play area, ball cage and courts and of course “Funky Footprints”, our neighbouring nature reserve. Day and residential visits, community partnerships, global projects and the use of expertise beyond the classroom, further support our aims for rich, first-hand and purposeful experiences.
We are fortunate to have a knowledgeable and committed team of staff and governors who work together to ensure that our school continues to go from strength to strength. Our parents are also highly supportive and the active Parent Association organises fundraising and social events throughout the year which are enjoyed by everyone.
The School Vision is our driving force for moving forward. Children at St Nicholas play an active part in school development and have created key school aims which stem from this vision:-
- Persevere, be resilient and never give up
- Work hard to achieve goals
- Learn new things each day
- Be kind, helpful and stick together
Please do contact us should you require any other information. The staff and children will be pleased to tell you more about our school and to answer any of your questions should you choose to visit.
